This workshop will introduce a beginner audience to oral history. We will explore the methods, best practices, and ethics of oral history. We will discuss researching and designing your own oral history project, conducting an oral history interview, and processing and archiving resulting interviews. We will also discuss best practices for recording oral histories.
The workshop will be conducted via Zoom. Please check your calendar before purchasing a ticket, as we are unable to offer refunds.
Registrants will receive a packet filled with SFA’s fieldwork guidelines, recommended reading bibliography, and listening exercises to help you practice new skills. The packet and a Zoom code will be shared with registrants in advance of April 21.
